2013 Vocal Awards Competition

Information, Guidelines, and Application

PARTNERS for the Arts will hold its first vocal awards competition October 26 and 27, 2013, in search of opera’s rising stars.  It will consist of a preliminary round and a final round.  Both rounds of the competition will take place in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.  The judges will come from prominent opera companies that are partnering with us.

The prizes for the winners in the final round are:
First Place – $2,500; Second Place – $1,500; Third Place – $750.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 35 at the date of the competition.

Applicants must not be under professional management.

Applicants must reside, or be enrolled in a university, college, or conservatory, in the mid-Atlantic region.

Non-U.S. citizens must show proof of legal residency in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States or proof of full-time enrollment in a university, college, or conservatory in the mid-Atlantic region before being permitted to enter the competition.
