Celebrated June 30, 2013 at the home of Leilane and Barry Mehler
We started with a lovely reception during which everybody got to know each other. Then, Dr. Robert Misbin introduced the theme. After almost an hour of questions, answers, and very passionate discussions, we had dinner. Our Treasurer, Audrey Pendergast, graciously donated the dinner of authentic German food, German wines, German beers, and, of course, a rich German Black Forest cake appropriately decorated to commemorate our celebration of the 200th anniversary of Richard Wagner’s birth.
We were honored to have with us Aurelius Fernandez, president emeritus of The Wagner Society of Washington DC, members of the Wagner Book Group, an offshoot of the society, and, of course, PARTNERS’ members. The event started at 4 p.m. and did not finish until almost 10 p.m.
We all agreed that this is the first of many events like this.
How about Everything you always wanted to know about Verdi but were afraid to ask? He is celebrating the 200th anniversary of his birth this year too!
