Audrey Pendergast Audrey Pendergast

In memory of our loving and loyal friend and founding member of the board, PARTNERS for the Arts will dedicate our 10th Anniversary Celebration to Audrey Pendergast. Her devotion and commitment to PARTNERS’ mission were constant. She was a diligent advocate who was always a proud promoter of PARTNERS’ mission. She left us too soon and unexpectedly. She will be missed but never forgotten by those whose lives she has touched. Audrey will be forever in our hearts.

The Board of Directors is immensely grateful for her generous bequest to PARTNERS.

Audrey Pendergast was a petite, always elegant lady who possessed a most generous spirit, as evidenced by her many career successes as a writer and her support of the arts. Above all, she was a loving and loyal friend to many.

Born in England, Audrey was a graduate of St. George College and a magna cum laude graduate of George Washington University.  Her long professional career extended from the Financial Times in London to leadership positions in Paris, New Zealand, and the United States.  For many years she was a freelance writer for scientific and technical organizations.

Audrey was the recipient of many well-deserved awards, including from the Society for Technical Communication, the National Association of Government Communicators, and the International Association of Business Communicators, and received the English-Speaking Union Volunteer of the Year Award.

A lover of classical music, she was part of many arts organizations, including the Wagner Society of Washington and The Washington Concert Opera.
