Verdi Bicentennial Lecture Series

Beginning on Monday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m. and continuing for six consecutive Mondays, PARTNERS’ vice president, Dr. Robert Misbin, will present six lectures commemorating the bicentennial in 2013 of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi.  The series will focus on Verdi’s operatic output and feature great Verdi singers of the past as well as several of his operas, among them Nabucco, A  Masked Ball, and Aida.  The sessions will last an hour and will take place at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington (JCC-GW), 6125 Montrose Road, Rockville, MD 20852.

Attendees are asked to sign up for the full six-week series.  The cost is $15 for the series for members of the JCC-GW and residents of Leisure World.  For nonmembers and nonresidents, the charge is $25.   One can register online at jccgw.org under Adults and the ACE Seminar program or come to the JCC at 10 a.m. on April 8 and sign up at the registration table.

Dr. Misbin is a former medical officer at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and a lifelong lover of opera and classical music.
